Hallways

A “motel” hall with 6 doors becomes an elegant space with an archway that connect two rooms where a closet used to be.

When we move around a house via the hallways, there is often space that just doesn’t feel right or has become clogged with debris or lack of design.  I can help you see your hallways with fresh eyes, maximizing the flow of people and energy through your home.

Sometimes, changing from carpet to wood or tile can open up a space and make it feel more dynamic.  Or changing a closet from a traditional purpose, such as a coat closet for guests into a small linen closet or craft space can really improve the functionality of your hallways.

This cabinet was underutilized in a bathroom; it holds loads of sheets, towels and blankets in the main hall.

Upgrading the hollow fifties-era doors with brass doorknobs to panel doors with arches and new knobs modernized the feel of this comfortable but dated ranch.

I love working with clients to explore a range of solutions that use the existing materials or bring in new style on a budget.  Clearing out clutter and simplifying space helps clients feel rejuvenated in their homes!

"Clutter is stuck energy.
The word "clutter" derives from the Middle English word "clotter,"
which means to coagulate -
and that's about as stuck as you can get."
